Daily Milk Exfoliant

The weather is getting warmer... it will be in the 90s here tomorrow!

The springtime sun means we're spending a lot more time outside -- working with the fatties (AKA the equines living in my yard), getting the garden ready to plant, and hours sitting out on aluminum bleachers cheering on my son's baseball team.

Was spring always this dusty and dirty?  It seems like dirt just seeps into my pores.

I want to get my skin really clean every night after spending the day outdoors.  But my skin is kind of sensitive too, so I don't want to irritate it.

I think I found a perfect compromise with this milk cleanser.  It's super easy to make, super inexpensive, and can sit on your bathroom shelf for months without spoiling.

All you need are two ingredients (three, if you add the lavender oil).  Rice bran can be found at the health food store.

Try it and let me know what you think!

Daily Milk Exfoliant
1 cup powdered milk
2 tablespoons rice bran
5-8 drops lavender essential oil (optional)

Mix powdered milk and rice bran together until well blended.  Add lavender oil, drop by drop, until mixed thoroughly and no clumps are left.  Store in a lidded jar.

To use: With damp hands, massage approximately 2 teaspoons exfoliant over a cleansed and dampened face.  Rinse.

Yield: About 28 uses.
