Day 34: Radishes, Here and Gone

We've begun to harvest our first batch of radishes. They aren't my favorite vegetables in the world, but they do add a nice crunch to salads. That is, if they would last long enough to be put into a salad.

None have actually made it into the house yet. The kids peruse the garden bed every morning, pulling up any fat lumps of red they see sticking up above the soil line. After a quick rinse in the horse's water buckets (gotta love country kids) they're eaten.

The tops get fed to the big horses. The pony has decided she can't stand radish tops.

I'm glad the kids love radishes. Maybe one day I'll actually get a taste of one.
