Day 12: We've Sprouted!

Or, our seedlings have. We've patiently scoured the garden beds every day for signs of life, and now we're finally seeing tiny leaves pushing up through the soil.

The radishes were the first to come up, followed quickly by beets and carrots. Peas came next, thick stalks easily seen and dwarfing the more delicate seedlings.

The chard is coming up nicely. So far we've only a small handful of spinach and lettuce seedlings. No luck on the cauliflower yet.

An early season storm is due to hit tonight. The other plants in the garden will be grateful; I've held off watering this week in expectation of some rain. Hopefully the seedlings won't be washed away!
